Acupuncture as useful as painkillers in emergency departments: Study

From the Morning Herald:

Professor Marc Cohen and his colleagues from RMIT University, Monash University and participating health centres conducted the test by using a verbal pain scale.

Patients recorded on a scale of zero to 10 the level of their pain over set periods of time in order to measure the reduction, if any, of pain.

Acupuncture as a pain relief treatment used by Doctors and clinicians is a common practice but few emergency departments offer it as treatment in situations that do not require surgery.
