Study: 1 in 5 trauma deaths could be prevented

From the Tribune:

The study by The National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine was released after the June 12 shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando that left 49 dead — and 53 wounded — despite being blocks from the region’s only major trauma care hospital. The study concluded more trauma centers are needed, and more than 30,000 deaths would have been prevented in 2014 if all hospitals provided optimal care.
