Mercy official hopes to address ‘misinformation’ about treatment for heroin addicts

From the Telegraph:

A Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque official hopes to correct “misinformation” circulating about how the hospital evaluates and treats heroin addicts.

The effort comes after a petition surfaced online criticizing the hospital’s admission standards for addicts seeking emergency treatment.

“If someone comes into our ER, we are absolutely going to take care of them,” said Mercy President Kay Takes. “We’re not going to turn them away.”
