Illinois Critical Access Hospital to Close. An Outpatient Center Will Open in Its Place

From the Times:

According to a news release from the chains, HSHS would eliminate inpatient services before OSF takes over. That also would mean the closure of the emergency room, barring a change in a state law that prohibits freestanding ERs.

Under its ownership, OSF plans to build a 30,000-square-foot outpatient services facility at a yet-to-be-determined location in Streator.

It would include imaging, laboratory, rehabilitation, specialty physician clinics, mammography, 24-hour urgent care and helicopter transfers, according to the news release.
