Colorado State Patrol says a white 2009 Dodge Dakota, driven by a 23-year-old Xcel Energy employee from Pueblo West, was
preparing to make a left hand turn from Highway 50 westbound onto 51 Lane. The truck was struck in the rear by a Southern Colorado Rural Emergency Services ambulance, driven by a 26 year-old man from Fowler, Colo., that was also traveling westbound.
After the collision, the ambulance driver lost control of the vehicle. The ambulance traveled off the north side of the road, down the shoulder and rolled.
The Dodge was pushed into the eastbound lane of travel
where it was struck by a white 2009 Mercury Mountaineer that was traveling eastbound. The impact caused the driver of the Mercury, a 40 year-old woman from Manzanola, Colo., to lose control of her vehicle. The Mountaineer rolled.
