From JEMS:
Jeffrey Urgelles thought his days as a paramedic ended three years ago when he left Miami-Dade Ambulance to take a job as the Marlins’ bullpen catcher.
But before Monday’s game, he helped umpire Jim Joyce revive an Arizona Diamondbacks employee who went into cardiac arrest outside the visitor’s clubhouse at Chase Field.
Urgelles was in the batting cages about 90 minutes before the first pitch when he heard someone in the hallway call for help.
“I started walking outside and saw (Marlins pitcher) Ricky Nolasco scream at me, ‘Urgy! Urgy! Some lady needs CPR!” Urgelles recalled before Tuesday’s game.
