A man admitted to the emergency room of Desert Regional Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation managed to walk away from the ER and get onto the hospital’s roof Sunday morning.
At about 9:30 a.m., hospital security called police to say he had walked away and was somewhere inside the east tower, Reed said.
Police searched floor-by-floor, starting in the basement, and found him outside on the third floor, hiding in a large air conditioning duct, Reed said.
Police were able to coax him out and return him to the emergency room, Reed said.
