Who gets treated first in medical emergency? Ethical guidelines proposed for Michigan

If a public health emergency strikes and medical resources are scare, health officials must make the tough choice of deciding whose medical care should be a top priority.

To guide those decisions, the Michigan Department of Community Health has proposed ethical guidelines. The public is invited to review the guidelines and provide feedback. They are posted on the website,www.mimedicalethics.org.
